Assaggeria Km 431 - SILVI

Very good place to try regional food. Choice is meats is excellent and of high quality for a reasonable price. The staff was very helpful and friendly, they explained us the whole menu. In a place like this I wish I could eat more. But better to just come again and try more of it. I’d give 1 star minus for the trains, but then again, the food and service was 6 stars The place seemed busy, so you might want to book if you are a larger group.

A restaurant you go to taste the traditional food of Abruzzo. The location is just next to the railways, so that your conversation may be interrupted by a passing train... Children love it, adults are less enthusiasts about it. But that is the only reason why I am giving this restaurant a 4 and not a 5! The staff are amazingly professional and helpful, and patiently give advice to those who are not locals and need help to decide. Food is delicious. I took antipasti and arrosticini and everything was so tasty!

First time here, despite many opportunities to go but never tried. Tonight food, atmosphere, service all exceeded my expectations. A place to visit again and to recommend.

Over the years I drove by this place many many times and it did not occur to me to stop and try it. Mainly because I had the impression it to be some sort of shack sandwiched in between the railroad tracks and the Strada Statale. What a miss! Appetizers were excellent, in particular the mixed bruschetta and the misto bufala , a combination of different buffalo milk based fresh cheeses, such as mozzarella, nodino, bocconcini and ricottine. Delicious! Only the misto fritti I felt that the fried layer could have been a little more delicate. We chose as pasta chitarinna della casa with Abruzzo sausage pieces, tomatoes and Parmesan cheese and ravioli tartufo e porcini both to die for! As main dish we had salsiccia di fegato alla brace (liver based sausage), which was very good and two types of arrosticini: the classic sheep meat ones and the spicy liver ones. The latter were great, as long as you like liver assembled on the skewer by hand. However the classic ones were partially a little chewy. I had better ones before. Overall a great discovery. Service was ok and when we left the place it was packed with locals in the middle of the week.

We go to this restaurant every time we're in silvi. roasts and meat continue to be good, but the organization leaves little to desire. long waited and not all we ordered was served. dessert to forgetxro we will return as always
