During our two-night stay in Silverdale, we had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious Japanese cuisine offered at affordable prices. We can't wait to return the next time we are in the area.
The restaurant was unexpectedly closed with no notification on their website or Open Table. It is unacceptable for a restaurant to continue accepting reservations through an app that directs customers to their website.
My wife and I stopped by on Valentine's Day without reservations and told the wait was 20-30 minutes. We waited an hour and fifteen minutes before leaving. The staff was holding open tables for up to 20 minutes waiting for the next reservation. We made reservations this time for Fathers Day, but on arrival were told the restaurant was not accepting the reservations because they were too busy. Fortunately, the wait was reasonable this time. Food is great, but our service was a little slow.
The manager stated that Jo:a does not have a business relationship with OpenTable so he would not honor our reservation. The floor was sticky. Our waitress had to be prompted to bring the soup and salad. The giyoza was burned. We have dined here several times and liked it enough to return. It has never been a disaster as this experience was. We will stay away for a year in hopes that Jo:a can get their problems sorted out. Hakata is nearby.
