However, two out of the six shrimp pieces were not very fresh, as the meat had already begun to stick to the shells. Additionally, we had to request an official receipt because they initially provided only a temporary one. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, and the waitstaff were friendly as well.
First, let me talk about the Binakol soup. It features a comforting salty broth that I really enjoyed, reminiscent of another soup I can't quite recall. Next up was the Laing, which had a strong, slightly bitter flavor (though not as intense as bitter melon), and I loved the spicy kick that made it a delightful choice. The Chicken Inasal came in a generous portion, although some parts were a bit charred; surprisingly, this added to the flavor. I particularly enjoyed it paired with calamansi and soy sauce as a dip. The Pork Barbeque had a good marinade, though it was a tad chewy. The Gambas were sweet and spicy, served in a saucy blend; however, the portion size was somewhat small. As someone who isn't a fan of fish dishes, I have to compliment the generous serving of bangus they offered. Before concluding my review, I must recommend their Turon de Leche. These delightful treats feature bananas wrapped in spring roll wrappers, filled with leche flan, and topped with vanilla ice cream. You definitely don’t want to miss this!
One of the things I love most about driving to Tagaytay is the wide variety of food options available in the area. While there's a lot to appreciate about the dining scene in Metro Manila, eating in Tagaytay elevates the experience to a whole new level. Imagine concept cafes and restaurants nestled in lush surroundings or with stunning views of the picturesque Taal Volcano. Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Balinsasayaw Tagaytay Lalaan Uno. This cozy restaurant offers delicious Filipino dishes in a rustic, provincial-style setting. Here’s why you should definitely add this kubo-style eatery to your list when visiting Tagaytay!
The only hesitation I have of giving this restaurant a hight rating is the slow service. Our group had our food pre-ordered. But upon arrival at the restaurant, we found out we lack 1 set of meal so we ordered again. Our group was almost finished eating when the additiinal order arrived, after around 5-6 follow ups (for a plate of rice with chicken bbq). Also, since we have several leftover, we had them for take out. Our food was packed after 3 follow-ups. But for their food, I have no regrets. They also have separate bahay kubo as dining areas, and a larger garden-like dining area that can be used for functions.
Best pork LAING in town and the pritong Bangus was so succulent, very large and fat bangus and fried to perfection. service was great. but downside is i dont like kubo style dining, but i guess thats why theyre in CAVITE, *couples need privacy there ????
