Mountain Creek - Sierra City

I felt like I was living in an episode of the Virgin River TV series. We walked in for breakfast and everyone was so friendly. Other than myself, everyone knew each other. They all had their personal coffee mugs hanging on nails on a post. Be Breakfast was good! But more importantly, the experience was completely charming. Oh, the laminated menus were clean to the touch!

Passing thru this cute little town, we stopped here for lunch today. Rustic and cozy. We were greeted very warmly. Ordered our drinks, and then we ordered food. We ordered a club sandwich to share and onion rings. Pretty darn tasty. The bacon was deliciously smoked and so was the Turkey. Yummmy! Cute place, so glad we stopped. Love supporting locals.

Best turkey burger and onion rings I have had in a long time! Super friendly folks working there who provide caring customer service. It is always a pleasure to visit Sierra City!

I stopped by The Red Moose at 9 AM on Tuesday July 11th. I was really looking forward to a great breakfast. According to all that I had read it would be open. Wrong ! It was closed and there was a for sale sign posted. Not a good indication of things.

This is such a quaint little spot in Sierra city. A quick stop on the way to downieville or further. They offer indoor and outdoor seating and fun little card games on the tables! The staff was extremely accommodating and let us order from the lunch menu 30 minutes early. Our food came out fairly quickly and everything was presented so nicely. All the food was seasoned and cooked perfectly! I ended up ordering a salad and was able to make some additions to it to really customize it. Really great service and awesome food make this a great spot to pick up a quick lunch or breakfast and enjoy all their restaurant antiques and the cute little town of Sierra city. They're even friendly for your furry friends.
