La Grotta Di San Francesco - SIENA

We booked a table here only 30 minutes before reviews. Online booking via Google was super easy. When we arrived, the place was almost empty, and the Kebab shop next door and Friseur's shop over loud music made us a little nervous. Nevertheless, we came through and sat outside (we wanted the Siena atmosphere) and were glad that we did. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the tables are good with white linen and good glassware. The service was simple, but very pleasant. The vino della cassa was absolutely fantastic (both the rosso and bianco). We had a simple caprese and a beef tar to begin with truffles. We then had spaghetti they agreed to make with larger shrimps instead of scampi, without anything at all. It was excellent. We also had a perfectly cooked steak with rosemary, which came with delicious potatoes. Coffee finished the meal and it was also excellent. The vibe was initially a little repulsive, but we enjoyed the food and left very satisfied.

Delicious food and fast service directly at Piazza Gramsci! We had some delicious appetizers, a seafood plate with perfectly boiled Calamari and a few sides, and the staff was wonderful. Definitely recommend!

Great food! Especially the gnocchi with mussels and squid was incredibly good. The owners do not speak English and that could actually exist, it is extra charm, besides their warm hospitality.

Excellent food, both mare e terra, large portions. The service and staff are very nice and the prices are good. A place to visit!

Amazing Seafood WonderfulHosts This is a great family run Italian seafood restaurant and good value for money. We were welcomed on arrival, the service was warm and friendly and the food delicious. My wife had the sesame seared tuna thatwas cooked perfectly and I had the seafoodpasta. The local Chianti wine was also good value.
