We were seated and we ordered our coffees, only to open the menus we were given and found they were the drink menus. When the waiter returned we asked if they were serving food, but he said the kitchen wasn't open. (This was 11 in the morning). Found it quite misleading to have the food menus out the front if the kitchen wasn't even open. It also would have been nice for them to let us know before seating. So with the cover charge, we paid 10 euro for two small, underwhelming coffees. Left feeling ripped off.
Service was extremely slow, then the order was forgotten. Finally drinks arrived and spilt on my glasses and phone. Small apology but no attempt to clear up the spillage. I had Lasagne, little flavour and needed more seasoning. My other half had sea bass ravioli which left him under whelmed due to lack of flavour and seasoning. Very over priced .
This is exactly what you expect to get when eating in a tourist restaurant on the most famous square in a historic city. This restaurant is also known as Il Mulino and it located directly on Il Campo overlooking the Mangia soldi tower. It is a beautiful restaurant and has an impressive view from an upstairs dining room. Our lunch started with delicious paccheri pasta with guanciale and green onions. Then we waited and waited for our second plate of duck breast with an 'ancient mustard ' and sweet sour sauce. It was good enough but would have been better if it had arrived 20 minutes sooner. Our Aperol spritz were overpriced at 9 euros each but that is what happens in these kind of places The check was slow...slow...slow in coming. And 75 euros for two plates and three drinks is expensive no matter the location. Reminder to self: next time order a pizza and a beer.
Excellent service, waiter couldn't do enough for us. Helpful and pleasant. The hot bread was to die for...kudos to whoever makes this. The main courses were divine...and the tirumisu dessert was absolutely lovely. Sat on the the square with a lovely wine and wonderful food...what's not to love!
Really good pasta and fantastic bread. Recommend you give it a try. Service was good and food great. Better than adequate wine selection. Prices on a par with all the restaurants in the square.
