Old school steakhouse that does it better than most Amazing history iconic restaurant

WR cut ribsteak. Medium rare. Best steak I've ever had.

A classic! Great service, whatever you order will be delicious. On your way to the restroom you’ll see millions of famous people who had visited the place.

Let me start with the good. The atmosphere and social environment is great here. Great people having a great time. But I think this has more to do with the people of Chicago than it does the venue. The service was good ... no problem there. The food ... the food ... the food was horrible. I should have ended my time here when I tasted the lobster bisque but I was enjoying the atmosphere. So I proceeded to order a horribly uncooked filet mignon that lacked flavor, dry mashed potatoes that seem to come out of the box. I should have known that something might end up wrong with their flavors when I saw a bottle of Gibsons Seasoning on every table in the restaurant. Great Steakhouses don't put seasonings on the table. A great Chef knows how to prepare and cook a steak before it is served. I might go back for the environment and drinks but I won't be ordering food here ever again.
