The food was outstanding! 2 of our party of 7 had been here before but it was a first visit for 5 of us and all 7 of us were very happy with our food, drinks and atmosphere. We particularly enjoyed the fresh guacamole prepared tableside. My husband and I both had the Pina Loka which are fajitas prepared with and served in a grilled pineapple. My daughter and her boyfriend shared the Fajita For Two which was a very generous portion of Chicken, steak, shrimp and pork. Everything was delicious. There is a large selection of Margarita flavors both frozen and on the rocks. We hope to become regulars at Plaza Azeteca in Sicklerville.
I recently visited this restaurant for the first time after my daughter had recommended it. I will definitely be returning. I tried their burrito, which is not something I usually order at a Mexican restaurant, and it was fantastic! The margaritas were delicious as well, and the table-side guacamole is absolutely delicious.
I understand it was a Saturday night and we were seated immediately because we had reservations but that is where I would end the praise. Once seated it took forever for our server to return to even take drink orders. Once that was in after waters the alcoholic beverages took quite a while. Then even more time to even ask what we wanted for appetizers and dinner. Then the longest wait was for the actual food to arrive. The table side guac as with each Plaza Azteca location I 've been to is fantastic but my actual entree which was so blah I 've forgotten the name of it was super bland. My other friends portions were pretty large but some of them didn 't even bother with take home containers because they were not impressed then we were largely ignored; you 'd think they 'd want the space but NO ONE came to give us our check. I was there for my birthday and I felt ignored. The dessert menu is atrocious so I had no cake, no nothing chocolate because as the waitress said the only option was ice cream . I get that it 's a Mexican restaurant but most places at least have sopapillas with chocolate sauce. It was a completely underwhelming experience and I do not plan to return just to be largely ignored for the whole evening to eat mediocre food.
The service was slow and our order was incorrect multiple times. While the restaurant is making an effort, it is not somewhere I would choose to return to. If you do decide to give it a try, I recommend keeping your fingers crossed and hoping for the best.
