Contribuiți la feedbackI visited this restaurant for Christmas and had a wonderful time. The staff were lovely and the food was top-notch. I believe they have the potential to earn a Michelin star in the near future. However, like many places in Ludlow, they seem to be benefiting from the reputation of Shaun Hill, who left the town over 10 years ago. Tourists should note that Shaun is now in Wales. As a result, prices in this restaurant and others in town are quite high, trading on the historical reputation of Ludlow as a foodie destination, which may not be as deserved anymore. There is another great restaurant in town, but I'll keep its location a secret - it's not Bistro 7.
My last visit here at Fishmore was December 2021, So it's been a long well overdue to come back here to eat once again!! I one thing I know about Fishmore more is that, I'm already Guaranteed a full flavoursome and banging taster menu. So Having spent time in Ludlow eating shopping come here for lunch on my last day! Finished the trip off greatly. So Having had a beervand chill in the lounge just before my meal, it was time to start. Canapés come out ! Both 3 was dam so good. Excellent way to get you i the mood for the coming delights. Next was the Roscoff Onion, Gruyere walnut!! Now Roscoff is in my eye's my favourite Onion! And this was really really good! Now who doesn't live Cheese Onion? Next up was the Bread, which was a perfectly baked Focaccia! The Spring in that bake was a goodun and not too oily.. After the bread break.. it was Celeriac, Cep, Lovage.. The flavours from this was literally spot-on, every just blended well together! I always get a little excited when i see Celeriac on a menu as it's not used much, but is a blessing thing to eat! And this worthy being on the menu. Next was the Scallop, Sweetcorn, Chorizo, Coriander! Scallop was nice plump luscious, perfectly cooked and all flavours absolutely worked ! With a coquette crunch to add a little texture. Now for the main of Rose Veal, Turnip, Sweetbread, Seaweed.. Now there's one thing on this plate i don't see very often anyone? Sweetbread! The baby beef was so bostin and tender, Sweetbread was just what i needed, and the Seaweed brought a flavour of sea/oyster to the plate.. absolutely brilliant main ! Let's talk desserts now... Apple, Douglas Fir, Buckwheat, was the pre-dessert! This was ever so refreshing to the mouth! Dam delicious... Next up was this Salsify, Chocolate, Hazelnut... Now this dessert is definitely the best one i tasted this year and for awhile! It was that good the feeling it gave to me while eating it was a feeling of pure happiness. Plus a dessert with Salsify root vegetable in in, I've not seen or heard that before! Top marks for this magical thing... Then it was the petit Fours to finish off a really really really bostin lunch! Till next time! And hopefully won't leave that long to the next visit.....
Forelles exceeded all expectations of a Michelin-listed restaurant. The setting overlooking the beautiful lawns of Fishmore Halls hotel near Ludlow, with views of Shropshire hills, was stunning. The service was flawless, and the dishes were exceptional. We had a tasting menu with eight courses, and all but one dish impressed us. The variety of wines by the glass, at affordable prices, was a bonus. I would gladly return to Forelles for another perfect meal next time we are in the area. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful lunch.
I made a reservation for the tasting menu at this restaurant and ordered both the classic and vegetarian options. I personally wasn't very excited about trying the tasting menu as I'm not as much of a foodie as my partner, but I have to say that all the courses were delicious and I happily ate everything. My partner, who has had tasting menus before, said that this was the best one she's ever had. We stayed at the Fishmore hotel for 2 nights, and they offer deals that include the tasting menu. If you're considering staying there, I recommend booking the tasting deal as it might save you some money. It was definitely worth the price.
Taster menu was delicious but what really made it a special experience was the service. It made it magical. The setting was beautiful as well.
