Dorrington Old Hall Persian Cuisine

We had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant. It was a Tuesday evening in early November and we were the only customers when we arrived. Despite our initial hesitation, we enjoyed a fantastic meal. The food was all fresh and delicious, and we loved trying the variety of dishes on offer. The restaurant could benefit from better advertising, but we were genuinely impressed. Thank you for a great meal!

Frustrated with the usual curry options, we decided to give this Persian restaurant a try. The chef's unique recipes offered a refreshing change of pace, with standout dishes like Ghormeh Sabzi (vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free), a popular Persian national dish, and the Lamb Nihari and lamb shank (which must be ordered 6 hours in advance) impressing our taste buds. The authentic naan served here is unlike any we've had in the UK, both in taste and size. Whether you're a vegetarian, gluten-free, or a meat lover, there's something on the menu to satisfy your cravings, all skillfully prepared and served by individuals who have been cooking since their childhood in Persia/Iran.

We recently visited this restaurant for the second time and once again, we were blown away by the outstanding food. The menu is a unique blend of Indian-inspired dishes with a distinctive and delicious twist. You can choose your preferred level of spiciness, and each dish is freshly prepared with freshly ground spices, a rarity in most Indian restaurants. The service is friendly and charming, and there is ample parking available. Located about a 15-minute drive from the center of Shrewsbury, the restaurant also offers a broad wine selection including some unique options like Massaya from Lebanon. Overall, we highly recommend giving this place a try - it's truly exceptional!

We recently stayed nearby. Since reading the menu online we'd been looking forward to eating here. With so many delicious choices on the menu we opted for the tasting banquet. We phoned ahead the day before as we wanted an early evening takeaway. On arrival at the restaurant we were personally welcomed by the chef who said he was just cooking our meal with fresh ingredients, the aromas from the kitchen were very encouraging. Once back at our accommodation we unpacked our feast. Many different dishes all of which had their own unique aromatic flavour. Delicious. We even forwarded the menu and photos to a friend with Persian Iranian heritage who says she'd love to join us but was sadly over 200 miles away. A truly fantastic meal and we can't wait to return on our next holiday. Thank you.

Absolutely perfect evening. On reading the menu we weren't quite sure what to expect, ... what arrived at out table was truly beautiful, tasty Persian food, cooked to perfection and beautifully fresh. The owner Chef even took the time to come out and introduce himself and have a chat with the diners. Very very appreciated tasty quality evening. We highly recommend and look forward to retuning.
