I am a member of the National Trust and look forward to their restaurants and tea rooms as part of my visit. However, recent years have often seen me disappointed. This one did at least offer real cups but the scones and cakes were not the freshest. Poor show to offer whipped cream not clotted cream as part of a cream tea. Please go back to local, individual and regional cooking not the mass standard catering that seems to have invaded recently. There are many local cafes nearby that offer much better ambience and food. The plus for this one is its location and roof top terrace.
Ideal watering hole near the end of a good walk. With it being such a warm day this café was ideally positioned towards the end of a walk with the family. We only had a cup of tea and biscuits but what we had was good. A proper big pot of tea with a big pot of hot water ideal for three cups each. The shortbread biscuits were homemade and ideal about 7cm across and 1cm thick. perfect. Can't give a five/five as we did not have anything much to eat..
A typical National Trust cafe but we were disappointed Victoria sponge without the cream for example. Overall it was OK but rather over priced compared with other cafes (and their offerings) in the area
We call here from time to time when out and about for a coffee and sandwich or bowl of homemade soup ,Grant the manager and his team work very hard as it does get very busy but the service is always friendly and efficient, good choice of freshly made sandwiches and toasties and lovely homemade cakes and scones, well worth a visit when in church stretton. highly recommended
