I recently dined at this restaurant and was quite disappointed with my experience. I ordered the cheese crisp, green corn tamales, and beans. Unfortunately, the tamales were unappetizing; I took two bites and couldn't finish them. Everything felt greasy, which was a letdown. I wish I had known how poor the food would be. Overall, I would rate this place one star for dinner, with a price range of $10–20 per person. The food, service, and atmosphere each deserve a rating of one star.

The greeter who took my phone order was fantastic and got everything right. However, I’m giving this place 3 stars because my to-go order came on aluminum foil. The metallic taste really ruins the food—have you ever had aluminum in your mouth? It's unpleasant just to think about! Moreover, using a metal fork on food served in aluminum foil is a terrible combination. It still leaves a metallic taste in my mouth just recalling it. On top of that, when you try to eat with a fork, the foil tends to break apart underneath when you stab or cut the food. Who thought this was a good idea? I understand that to-go containers can get soggy and flimsy, but they could at least double or triple them—anything but aluminum! I had to transfer my food to a regular plate when I got home, which was quite annoying. This is the second restaurant I've encountered that does this. Any experienced cook should know better than to mix metal with metal when serving food. They did provide plastic utensils, but it still seemed like a bad choice. So, if you decide to order takeout, I recommend asking for no aluminum. After all, aluminum can be toxic to our bodies. Aside from this issue, everything else was good.
