Mermaids - SHOAL BAY

I experienced a long wait for mediocre food and coffee, even though there were very few customers in the restaurant. I’m not sure how they stay in business. Our coffee sat on the counter for a while before anyone brought it to our table. The prices are steep for what you get and for the location—$20 for smashed avocado is even more expensive than in Bondi! To top it all off, the kitchen staff were swearing within earshot of young families. It was quite an unpleasant experience overall!

This restaurant is situated in a beautiful location across the street from the beach, offering a laid-back atmosphere. It’s a fantastic spot for family breakfast, and my kids absolutely loved their waffles. The eggs were cooked to perfection, and the coffee was excellent. The staff was also very friendly.

I would rate this restaurant 4.5 stars. The beautiful speck and egg hash brown was fantastic and perfectly cooked. The juices were also quite large and refreshing. However, the service was only 3 stars during my last visit as the staff seemed disengaged with customers, almost appearing angry. The atmosphere was unusual and lacked friendliness. As for the coffee, I would give it 1 star— the milk was burned, which resulted in a poor texture, and it was far too hot. The female barista could really benefit from some training. I truly hope this place can improve its coffee training for the staff, as it has the potential to be a standout spot!

Beautiful location, great staff, abby is very beautiful always smile and a very good soul. other girls are also great. I appreciate my hot water in the morning for the time I visited the city. bless you

Beach front cafe. I thoroughly enjoyed the house made waffles! Super light and fluffy with delicious mascarpone cream on top and seasonal fruit. I'd definitely come back for the waffles!There was such a generous serving of granola and yoghurt too with seasonal berries. Yum!
