Restaurant du Pavillon Aquatique

Located next to the aquarium, this restaurant offers a diverse selection of dishes. The menus are available in both French and English. Our server was courteous and the food was delicious. I ordered the chicken and my husband loved the lobster roll.

My friend and I, both adults, had lunch at this restaurant on August 27, 2019. After visiting the New Brunswick Aquarium Marine Centre next door, we decided to stop here for a meal. The restaurant is charming with a lovely view of the Baie des Chaleur marina. There is also a terrace available for outdoor dining. The menu primarily features seafood, however there are also 4 sandwich options and a variety of chicken dishes. They offer a special menu for children as well. We started our meal with the soupe du jour, a tasty vegetable soup served with a hot roll. Unfortunately, the fish cakes we wanted were no longer available, so my friend opted for the lobster salad while I chose the scallops. The lobster salad was generously portioned and delicious, according to my friend. My scallop dish included 8-9 perfectly cooked scallops served with homemade French fries coleslaw. The scallops were cooked perfectly, the fries were tasty but portion was large for two adults, and the coleslaw was good. The service was a bit slow and unprofessional, as our waitress was in training and forgot some things like bringing water and setting the table. However, she was eager to please and will likely improve with more experience. We were too full for dessert, so my friend had a coffee and I had a glass of milk. The restaurant does have a liquor license for those who wish to indulge. The washrooms were very clean.

We waiting an hour and a half to be served and when we finally were the food was terrible. My seafood pasta was terrible so I sent it back. Then they immediately brought me fish and chips which was burnt and inedible. We asked to speak with the manager to explain how unsatisfied we were and when he came out he did not apologize or offer anything to make it right, he stood there with his arms folded and looking at us. We went to pay and some rude guy who wasn't the manager was with our server looking angry because we said we are not paying for a meal we did not eat. My father in law said he wanted a discount for such a disappointing experience and had to argue with him to get it. There were 7 of us and we will never go back!

We went to this restaurant thinking it would be good. The food was worse than a cantine i would not recommand this at all. New owners who don't know anything about food.

After visiting the aquarium, we decided to have lunch at this restaurant. Two of us ordered the seafood chowder, but were disappointed with the small portion size. The portion was barely a cup full. The food itself was delicious, but we felt that a larger portion would have been more suitable.
