House Of Good Fortune - Sherwood

We have been dining at the House of Good Fortress for many years, and it truly stands out as the best Chinese restaurant in the area! There was a challenging period a few years back when the original chef passed away and the owner departed. The younger generation has now taken charge and revamped the menu, offering many more options! We visit once a month, usually with another couple, so we can sample a variety of dishes. We have a few favorites that we always enjoy sharing. We start with BBQ Pork and Crab Puffs. For our main courses, we love the sweet and sour shrimp, Mongolian chicken, and prawns with lobster sauce. I personally have a soft spot for the Chow Fun Special, which I've ordered twice now—it's fantastic! The Happy Family dish, featuring mushroom beef and BBQ pork with string beans, is also excellent. Overall, we've never had a disappointing meal here! Our children enjoy the mushu, and we find other dishes like the Good Fortune Special Egg Foo Yong (which includes beef, chicken, shrimp, and four treasures) to be delightful. Another couple we know travels over an hour just to relish the amazing food. The beer and wine selection at the restaurant is quite limited but acceptable. What really sets this place apart, though, is the warm welcome we always receive, complete with smiles and hugs. The service is impeccable; even though we typically arrive around 7:30 PM and the restaurant closes at 9, we often stay until 9:30 without any issues. In summary, if you're in the mood for excellent Chinese cuisine, definitely head to the House of Good Fortress in Sherwood!

A family favorite! We love the Chicken Chow Mein, Mongolian Beef, and Hot and Sour Soup. The restaurant is clean, and the service is excellent. Our water glasses were always filled.

This is the best Chinese restaurant in the area. Anyone who complains about it probably just prefers Panda Express. Honestly, I think they lack a refined taste. The orange peel chicken is the best I've ever tasted!

Always on the search for great restaurants my family and I ate at House Of Good Fortune, which is in the Sherwood Market Center which sits on SW Tualatin-Sherwood Road just off of Pacific Highway West. From the moment we entered the restaurant to the time we left we had the friendliest and most gracious service and attention. Our server, Steven, is amazing; he is extremely professional and fun. The restaurant is spacious and bright with plenty of seating. And the food is definitely five stars. I started with the Hot and Sour Soup which I thought had the perfect balance of both: very very delicious. I also had the Four Treasures which has a garlic brown sauce. It was incredible! All of our portions were huge and amazing. We all loved the Chicken Fried Rice: probably the best we’ve had. We’re so glad we tried it here and are planning on returning very soon.
