Great place for dinner. The restaurant is cozy and service is attentive. We sat at a booth and everyone in our party each had the Whole Note omakase. We did not do any of the formal wine or sake pairings offered and instead ordered sake and beer a la carte. I'm posting pictures of everything we had that evening. I could imagine this being a nice place to bring a date. Dinner was delicious and well paced. Can highly recommend this restaurant.
Top notch omakase sushi and wine pairings. Great spot for a date night, on par with the best sushi restaurants in Los Angeles if not the top.
Very Disappointing! No idea how this place has the rating it does. Came here on a whim with high hopes after reading several stellar reviews in Eater LA, Time Out, etc. Did the Omakase for $140, and a sake pairing for $70. The Pros: the fish was very fresh (zero fishiness whatsoever), ambiance was great, rice was warm and seasoned well the chefs knew what they were doing behind the sushi bar. immaculately clean prep space. The server was friendly and timing of the food was served was spaced out well. The Cons: The omakase was a 20 bite tasting, and by my third bite I knew I had made a mistake in coming here. the food had no flavor whatsoever and was bland bland bland! Omakase is intended to be a tasting experience of individual nigiri bites bursting with unique flavor profiles created by chef. This was the polar opposite. The fish variety was very standard. it was so poorly seasoned that i was desperate for some soy wasabi (chef didn’t put enough on for my liking). It eventually got to the point that i wanted to just getup and leave and forgo the remaining bites, however i did not. I would give this place a 6.5-7/10 rating. There were a few delicious bites but overall it was seriously lacking. I won’t be back. Left dropping $270 solo (after tip and tax) feeling frustrated, hungry deeply disappointed. If it had been a $80 Omakase or i had ordered off the menu perhaps i’d be giving a diff review, but for what I paid i expect more. Next time i’ll stick with Sushi Fumi or Jinpachi, my two favorite sushi spots in LA.
Great Sushi restaurant. Staff were very good. Food was amazing. Nice vibe. I’ll be back next trip to LA.
