Went on 15th Oct 23. Took my family down 8 year old granddaughter's birthday because strangely enough (for an 8 year old) her favourite meal is Sunday Lunch! We all had Carvery. 3 meats on the pass. Potatoes 3 ways. Good selection of veg and thebusual rich, hot gravy. Puds clearly home made and FRESH. Veg crunchy not sloppy and wet. Service as ever was top notch from the young motivated and enthusiastic staff. We snuck a cake in and staff were only too happy to bring it I with the candles lit and BONUS! They sang happy birthday to her. The Plough never fails to deliver, whether I call in after a walk with the dog for a pie and chips, if I take a friend for a bite to eat, or take the whole family. And they mucky pigs are to die for. Recommend 100
Went for the first time today to the Plough at Low Bradfield with a friend and our two Dandie Dinmont dogs for Sunday Lunch. We’ve been to the Old Horns a number of times but wanted to try the Plough for a change. We were a bit wary given a couple of recent reviews. We needn’t have worried. From the start with the really warm welcome to the finish the staff were absolutely amazing and couldn’t do enough for us even though they were really busy! I can’t believe that the people who welcomed and served us could be accused of anything other than doing their best to make sure we were happy. The carvery was exceptional in quality and value for money and the young man who carved and served the meat made sure we had what we wanted with a really generous portion. The veg was really good quality too making for a really tasty meal. I finished with the sticky toffee pudding with custard an absolute triumph! Throughout we and our dogs were made welcome and they were fussed to bits which they loved. I noted the review which also referred to the desserts sorry, but the dessert menu is really obvious if you take the trouble to look how insulting to buy dessert elsewhere and expect to eat it in a place serving food! We will certainly be back and to the naysayers I say, if you can find better then maybe thats where you should go and leave the Plough to folk who appreciate it.
Simply The best !! Excellent food, great value for money and friendly staff what more could you want,so luck to have this as our Lovely traditional local pub.
The food was very good. The steak and ale pie was outstanding. A good selection of beers. They were busy but the staff were very friendly and helpful. If you sit out side as we did on a beautiful evening don’t moan about the slope of the outside area. It’s what it is! Will go again
