Staindrop Lodge Brasserie - Sheffield

Summary: Staindrop Lodge in Sheffield is the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The cleanliness was shocking, with broken furniture and fittings adding to the dated decor. Despite the hotel being recently taken over by 'Brilliant Hotels', it should not be open to the public in its current state. The previous positive reviews are outdated, and the hotel no longer lives up to its former AA 3+ stars rating. During our stay, the rooms were dirty, with issues ranging from a lack of cleanliness to broken amenities. The lack of COVID safety measures was concerning, and the overall experience was extremely disappointing. The staff were unhelpful, and despite complaints, we were unable to receive a refund through Booking.com. Avoid staying here at all costs.

I visited this restaurant for a birthday party on a Saturday night and decided to stay overnight. The service from the staff was exceptional throughout our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, equipped with good televisions and showers. We stayed in a room facing the street, which had some noise from the road. I suggest requesting a room facing the other direction for a quieter night. The breakfast was fantastic, with a wide selection of hot dishes including well-prepared kippers, salmon and scrambled eggs, omelette, eggs benedict, and the classic English breakfast. It was much better than what I have experienced at Hilton or Marriott hotels. I highly recommend this place!

My wife and I stayed overnight at this hotel in order to attend our company's Christmas party in Sheffield. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable which was a great bonus. The full English breakfast was delicious, especially the scrambled eggs prepared just the way I like them. The only downside was that the drinks were a bit pricey. I would recommend staying overnight here to anyone.

Had a 2 night stay here at the beginning of the week, food is good and staff are very friendly. Rooms are all very big and fairly modern. My only gripe is that the bed in my room had a dip in it, luckily it was a double.

We stayed at the Staindrop to be at friends wedding, and what a wonderful place to have your wedding and reception. The room we stayed in was huge and immaculate, the staff were cheerful and efficient, this is a place we will return to. Recommended. Jack B. Corporate events are catered for)
