I've got no idea why people flock here to have very greasy fish and chips. They are terrible. You also can be waiting a very long time as well in the queue even when they are just a few people waiting. One of the staff members quite enjoys chatting to customers and leave you waiting for ages. I felt like saying come on serve me now and shut up talking. I've also had food posioning from here twice! One from fish and chips and other from a fish cake. It really is over rated **** food.

A local institution! Its been on the Manor for maybe 30 years in different locations since Mr Beckett ran it (most people myself included still call it BECKETTS The cod is the best Ive ever had anywhere in the world and I 'm constantly amazed its better than at the seaside! However I often see the van delivering there early each morning fresh from Grimsby so that 's how its done! Being where located, its a no nonsense service from local colourful characters such as Sharon, Becky, Andrew and Mike who are loveable unique examples of Sheffield 's sharp humour and attitude especially when they get on at each other! Only issue they could work on and I hear people complain about it that you have to sometimes wait for the fish to be cooked to order but its worth the wait and they do their best to make sure you have chips put to one side ready for when your fish is done, One of the few places remaining that offers free scraps to compliment your food, Fishcake butties are very popular too. Think you should have Hendersons Relish free for customers to splash alongside the salt and vinegar? Has a 5 star hygiene rating from Sheffield Council Love the fact you are open Sunday afternoons One of the first places I aim to visit when I 've been abroad for a while! A rough diamond in what seems to be a sadly disappearing trade and a perfect example of what makes Yorkshire great!
