The spirits were poured in generous Irish measures and there was a diverse range of ages, including those enjoying the Dog and Partridge lager.
I used to adore this pub, but it now seems to be catering too much to the Peddlers crowd. The music is blaring and there is outdoor seating on the street. It no longer feels like a traditional pub where you can relax and have a conversation. Trying to keep up with the times just doesn't work for this place.
The pub offers a nice selection of real ales, including the popular Kelham Island Pale Ale, as well as other drink options. The food menu features traditional pub fare at reasonable prices, making it a great value for money. The chef deserves praise for delivering our orders promptly, allowing us to enjoy our meals together. I personally enjoyed the flavorful steak pie topped with shortcrust pastry, served with roast wedges and mushy peas. My daughter loved the sausages and Yorkshire puddings, while others in our group opted for the cheeseburger and piri-piri chicken wraps. Overall, we had a fantastic experience at The Fat Cat and would highly recommend it to visitors in the area.
Nice beer garden area and seating to front outside. The music was a little loud, even outside which made conversation difficult (it was early afternoon). A few cask ales available.
