Damon's - Sheffield

The first time when I try damons and next time again in sheffield, could recommend using one in some people, the ribs and herb very nice to try

Not as great as normal, I think some of the regular staff may have already left and been replaced with temp staff until it closes. Tables weren't as clean as normal, small things were missing... No salt shaker on the table, no finger bowl for the ribs, no finger wipes available, 4 chicken tenders instead of the 5 on the menu with the meal,etc. I was also accidentally sprayed with table cleaner in the middle of my meal when a table near us was being cleaned, which has never happened before. We went for a last meal before it closes, and while it was still good, the little things add up to a just slightly off experience. Damon's has always been expensive for what you get, which was noticeable this time due to the slightly lower standards. It's a shame it's closing, based on years of past visits, but if based purely on this visit i'd be less upset it was going away.

Damons hasn't changed at all in the 20+ years we've been. Except the prices have gone up. It's family friendly. Staff are generally lovely. The ribs are good. But everything else is decidedly average. Especially considering the prices are steep for what you get. We only come here due to the kids now and then.

We had an amazing experience here last night for a 16th birthday dinner. Our waitress was very attentive and quick with service. The food was quite pricey, but the portions were generous. We will definitely be returning!

We visited for a final meal before the closure, and although the food was still good, these little inconveniences really added up and detracted from the experience. Damon’s has always been on the pricier side for what you receive, and the decline in standards was noticeable. It's unfortunate to see it end after years of visits, but based solely on this visit, I wouldn't be too disappointed about its closure.
