Bulls Head - Sheffield

Terrible atmosphere. Basic drinks. Tacky screens and music. Not even cheap. Hopefully one day it’ll be turned into a nice pub.

Myself my parents had just finished dinner at the Ranmoor Tandori and thought we 'd pop for some drinks afterwards and ended up making this one drink and leaving asap. When we walked through the door the man behind the bar and 3 customers stood at the bar (the only people in the pub) all turned to look at us as if to say you aren 't regulars , it felt like a really cold un-welcome! Due to the other customers standing around part of the bar, we couldn 't properly see what beers were on so my dad asked what was on to get the response whatever is on the pumps is what we have on.. Once we got our drinks and sat down it felt like we 'd walked into someone 's living room uninvited and that the man behind the bar and other customers would prefer that we weren 't there often looking over and staring at us. Safe to say your plan worked...we won 't be back ever and just head a bit further down the road to somewhere else!

First visit here for maybe 30 years, it will be at least that long until I return! No welcome at all from the man serving at the bar. He served other people whist serving us, hardly necessary when there were only 12 people in the pub including our party of 3. I had Farmer's Blonde and it was the worst pint of that I have ever had anywhere. I left half of it. The man serving was blocking our view of the crisps so we asked what flavours they had. He just pointed at them and muttered something unhelpful. We only went because the Rising Sun was absolutely packed. My advice would be to go there instead!

As a university student during Covid I was really looking forward to meeting my professor and classmates at the pub for an end of exams drink however the Bulls Head really ruined any plans we had of that. Absolutely horrible experience, there were rude notices on the table explaining COVID rules. As soon as I joined my party we were treated with a very hostile attitude and I felt completely uncomfortable and out of place. I completely agree with previous comments suggesting racism from the landlady, her demeanour made us feel like we were all being told off by a teacher rather than welcome as guests. Eventually she brought out her dog and husband and bullied us into leaving. Despite this, very appreciative of the bar staff who tried to help us in the situation. Would definitely not return or encourage anyone to give them business.

A pleasure to return to the Bulls Head yesterday evening. We hadn't book in advance, but staff very accommodating, friendly and looked after us throughout our visit. Thank you.
