Frederick's Bistro - Shavano Park

My first time there and enjoyed it. The staff were friendly, courteous, and attentive. Although I was there for happy hour with friends, the appetizers offered were delicious. We shared the Paris Pizza, calamari, and chicken stuffed bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers. Delicious! Highly recommend this place. This is not a big restaurant with quiet pretty decorations, there's soft instrumental music is playing. The service is excellent. The food is pricey. And is not amazing, I would say. My brussel sprouts weren't cooked through and Frederick's salad missed dressing it seemed. Blue cheese salad was quite tasteless. The restroom is only one and it definitely needs some cosmetic repairs, beginning from its door. Vegetarian options: Very poor vegetarian menu. Food was flawless. Service was efficient but staff shortage was evident. Atmosphere in the main dining area seems worthy of 4 stars, the bar area was a little too noisy for me. Had one of the best tiramisu ever, in my worldwide travel experience. My dinner companion had similar remarks over mango crème brûlée. The food here is amazing! Crusted Hallibot is a great reason to return. Calamari is one of the best appetizers they offer here.

Excellent food, excellent service. These is one of the gems that are still provide excellence.
