A small, cheap, Dien yo earth place just across the street from the mall complex. Excellent dumpling sauce. Vegetarian dumplings were on the rightmost part of the menu, no English anywhere.
The food here is delicious. Never had vegan/vegetarian dumplings that were so good. It is also a nice little restaurant. I'm so sorry we were in a hurry, would have liked to taste more food and spend more time here. We will definitely come back (even if it is a little far away)! Updated by previous review on 2023-04-09
I tried desperately to find somewhere to find the University Road/ ↓ area, and was not in the mood for around 2 at Tago Tacos. Fortunately, my handy lucky Cow app didn't let me down and led me to Dancing Dumplings. The restaurant is small and something out of the way, but worth the trip. All vegan, many dumpling and bingo options. I overrated as usual, but it was great. The restaurant is a bit cramped, but very light and airy, and I love the open kitchen.
After unlocking, open again and still the best dumplings in Shanghai. It is a bit far from the center of Shanghai, but worth the trip. Newly renovated interior is beautiful, we came shortly before it was too busy, so it managed to get a nice table for 4 immediately. The menu is quite large, we ordered 6 different types of dumplings, 2 fresh mixed juices, some fried chicken and a radish cake. The staff was so attentive to bring water, a few edamame and pickled tomatoes while waiting. The sweet sour fried chicken was nice, not like everything I had before, I think it was Tofu skin (which they usually use for fake duck) and was more grill than sweet sour as we know. The radish cake, where I start, this is amazing, roasted delicacies so well we had to order another. From the dumplings my favorites were the Shepherds Purse and the cabbage, corn carrot. We ordered 3 more parts of dumplings. The staff gave us moon cake as it was Mid-Autumn Festival. We shared 2 cheesecakes that really well ordered some cold noodle dishes. Prices are so reasonable, the dumplings are the best in Shanghai. Updated by previous review on 2021-10-01
