Téng Nǎi Wū - 上峰町

In search of an eel restaurant for the Midsummer Day of the Ox, we came across this place with good reviews and spent about an hour getting there. It was almost full during lunchtime on a weekday, but we were able to get a table quickly as a few customers were just finishing up. We ordered eel sashimi, boiled eel, and eel rice bowl, all of which we had never tried before. We enjoyed every bite of both dishes. I'm not a fan of hot coffee, so I declined, but I look forward to trying it after a meal next time! The atmosphere inside the restaurant was bustling but not noisy, and I personally loved the idea of using Bowmore whiskey bottles as flower vases on the counter. Update: I never expected to celebrate the Midsummer Day of the Ox a month in advance on 6/29.

I tried eel kabayaki for the first time. The skin was crispy and the flesh was plump and delicious. I had tried steamed eel at another restaurant before, but honestly it wasn't tasty and had a lot of small bones, so I didn't like it. However, this kabayaki was delicious and I didn't even notice the small bones. The staff's customer service was great too. Even though I didn't order dessert, they apologized for making me wait and offered dessert as a service. I was touched by their thoughtfulness. I realized that not only the taste and skill of the food, but also the attentive customer service, is what makes this place popular. I use a wheelchair, and since it's not wheelchair accessible, it might be difficult to visit in a wheelchair. There didn't seem to be any ramps either.

The steamed eel in a bamboo steamer is delicious. The sauce is not too sweet, and the skin is crispy which I like. The waitress, who could also be considered the "poster girl" of the restaurant, is friendly and the atmosphere inside is pleasant. All seats have chairs, so I think elderly people would be happy. Thank you for the meal.

安くて良いお店発見 鰻屋さんですが個人的には自分に合う店でした。うなぎも皮パリでふっくらな仕上がり｡ タレも文句なし美味すぎてご飯かき込みました（笑） 鰻以外にもメニューが豊富で、写真は花籠御膳（2000円くらい） ボリュームもサービスも満点なリピートしたいお店でしたよ！
