I had dreamed of experiencing the Alaskan wilderness, but what I ended up with were several broken bones, including two broken ribs and a broken hand, along with over $20,000 in medical bills. Elle refused to file a workers' compensation claim on my behalf, which is illegal, and denied any responsibility for my injuries or the living situation she arranged for me (I will share photos below). This situation exemplifies how someone with money can treat others carelessly. Cooking is my passion, and I'm proud of my work; my halibut fettuccine was a specialty that I prepared daily, along with the rest of the dinner menu for 2023. We cannot let businesses like this continue to operate unchecked. The management’s approach to employee care is severely lacking. Moreover, if you're a family with young children looking for kid-friendly meals like chicken tenders, you might be told to leave, as I was personally informed. Please take a moment to read recent reviews—I'm not alone in my experience, though it seems some unfavorable reviews have mysteriously disappeared. We need owners who genuinely care about their employees and act responsibly, rather than exploiting young adults from out of state trying to make a positive contribution to a new business. Seward is beautiful, but Mermaid Grotto is not a good choice!

The best spot for dinner in Seward! I had an amazing meal there on my first night after arriving from the cruise ship. I accidentally left my credit card in the bill folder, and since we were departing on a tour bus the next day, I was worried. The staff went above and beyond to search for it. They found it two days later and mailed it to my home, saving me the hassle of getting a new card number. Truly exceptional service!

Ambiance and service were great! Dining is upstairs and we visited on an afternoon so the cafe downstairs was quiet. Location is near the water. Food was average

Additionally, the atmosphere was inviting and comfortable, making for a delightful dining experience. With prices ranging from $10 to $20 per person, this place is an excellent value for the quality offered. Overall, a fantastic spot for lunch!
