This deceptively unpretentious little bar and restaurant has wonderful food. It is situated in the scrappy, scruffy but strangely charming Pueblo Concreto of Valdezorras. The staff (and other customers) are very friendly and helpful. On our first day, they translated the menu into English for us. We had tasty Patas Bravas, a delicious Serranito with ham and chicken, and a Russian Salad. On Friday, we had skipped lunch and were.looking for an early dinner around 7:30, but we couldn 't find any restaurants in town that would serve food before 21:00! Apparently, real Spanish people don 't eat dinner before 9:00pm, at least on Friday. So we went to Casa Pelin again, and sure enough, the lovely Señora, Dolores, welcomed us in and was happy to serve food! She showed us pictures of every menu item to help explain what the dishes were. We had the delicious Patas Bravas again, a flavourful and light fish dish: a baccalao of acedías (dover sole), and a Ventresca de Atun a la plancha (tuna grilled on a metal plate) both with a good salad, and then for dessert an ice cream with caramel on a delicious gooey sort of french toast. All washed down with refreshing cervezas and Tintos de Verano of course! All of the food was very tasty, and we really appreciated all the help and attentiveness. It was all very good value too for visitors from the USA/UK, it was very inexpensive. We will surely return before our vacation is over (our AirBnB is 1 km outside town)
