Cafe Rio Mexican Grill - Severna Park

During my visit to see my Midshipman, he recommended this restaurant for lunch. I ordered the BBQ pork tacos along with a side of guacamole and chips. The food was outstanding! The prices were very reasonable, and the staff was incredibly friendly. I will definitely make this place a regular stop whenever I'm in Maryland.

Food is good, but the customer service is awful. There's no communication between the employees...I've seen it Everytime I'm there and last time, one employee gave an older customer attitude about wanting extra sauce. ?...absolutely terrible customer service. Try again, cafe Rio.

My soup was cold but good. Everything else was tasty and authentic. I will definitely be back.

I order catering for this past weekend and I have to say it was great!! The food was great the services was great the packaging was great!! I’ll re order for sure.

Cafe Rio is generally a fantastic choice for Mexican fast food, in my opinion. However, this particular location leaves much to be desired. Twice I ordered online and arrived at the scheduled time, only to find that the staff hadn't even begun preparing my order. Despite there being no other customers in the restaurant, they worked at a frustratingly slow pace. During my first visit, I waited 20 minutes for my food. I assumed it was just a one-time issue, so I tried ordering again about a month later, but the same thing happened. After waiting an additional 30 minutes past the estimated pickup time—during which an employee assured us they were "working on it," even though it was clear they weren't doing anything (you can see right into the kitchen)—we ended up canceling our order and leaving without our $50+ meal. Save yourself the hassle and consider trying Senior Chiles instead.
