Un'esperienza sublime, una goduria dei sensi,un'emozione ad ogni morso...
Bel locale, curato, vini naturali e birre originali Cibo interessante. Debole l'offerta vegetariana. Camerieri gentili. Tornerei.
To start with, I expected the road to Serra San Bruno from Soverato to be much norrower and full of curves, but, aside from the very beginning and the very end of the trip, the road was new and pleasantly sceneric. Once in Serra, the spectacle of the churches located near the restaurant added to the initial surprise. Then dinner at Zenzero completed the thorougly enjoyable experience. We had asked the chef to propose us a noisy group of 22 gourmands his favourite specialties cavalli di battaglia , in Italian and he surprised us with 3 starters of which the crusty filo pastry filled with mozzarella and caponata like vegetables, and the lentil soup with octopus were my favourite. Then the gnocchi with a special black pork ham and porcini mushroom came: what a masterpiece!!! Generally I 'm not a big fan of gnocchi since they tend to either get dry soon and to absorb the sauce too quickly or to taste somewhat fatty. Well, none of these possible shortcomings applied to Zenzero 's gnocchi. They were gorgeous from beginning to end. The gnocchi were followed by a very soft and tasty roasted piglet cut, with cruncy oven baked potatos on the side. Then, the final unforgettable piece came: the millefoglie with fruit. Crunchy and impalpable simply delicious. The host suggested and offered!!! us a few bottle of local wine which was very nice and full bodied. And, last but not least, the service was extremely kind and efficient. Congratulations to the 5 young lads 3 in the kitchen, 2 to serve of this very small and cozy restaurant: an amazing and unexpected culinary experience. And not a pricy one at all. The full menu the chef prepared for us was 45 euros per person. I 'll definitely go back if these guys were to move to big cities like Paris they would become famous in a very short time....
This restaurant was amazing. The food was delicious and the staff very helpful and friendly. After a day of travel it was comforting to spend a few hours in a great atmosphere. We would love to go back.
