The pizza was also cheap, but my family said they had better tasting frozen pizza to say... it didn't look very good either. I noticed that a glass house wine was $15 good that we don't drink! If you want to relax with a good view, this would be a great place to eat. Otherwise I would buy some bread and lunch meat or cheese, hard boiled eggs and crackers and drinks around the corner and sit outside on a picnic table and enjoy the same view.
We arrived a few times during our three nights at the lodge for breakfast and dinner. I had read the reviews and had no high expectations so I was not disappointed. Overall, the food is good and if you ask to dinate in it in proper plates, but with plastic utensils. When I consider how much the park takes care of the environment, I found the abuse of plastic utensils very annoying and could not really make sense why they were not with cutlery. You place your order at the entrance and the food will be brought to your table, which doesn't matter to me as it helps them to process orders faster. Portions are not too generous and it is not cheap. I do not recommend the sandwiches made earlier and not fresh, the bread is very cold and in my opinion they lack a great opportunity with the sandwiches by not serving them in freshly baked bread. The pizza is good, simple, but with excellent crust, clear freshly baked! The specials we tried were good, but expensive. Breakfast options are good and it is all self-service so it is fast. Considering that it is the only place that is served in autumn and winter throughout the park food, it is a very good option if you know what to expect!
Not good. Websites show steaks and great dishes. The main dinner was Neef Brocolli for $22. Only 3 choices and the snack bar menu. Served in take-out box with poor plastic cutlery. No service. You're alone. Very bad for a national park system that calculates $275 for a standard roo and no other service for more than 1.5 hours drroom. PARK SERVICE SHOULD BE ASHAME!!!
One of my favorite places where we stopped through the park. The pizza is huge! My fiancé and I have the works and the new black camp before our hike. It was so filled that even after our hike we needed more time to get hungry again.
We had a lovely time in the park. The last thing we did before leaving was stop here to eat. Waste of time. We arrived about 15 minutes before dinner service 5. Line is growing. 5 rolls around and I see 3 or 4 staff but no one is aknowledging customers or opening. Maybe 5 or 10 minutes later they start taking orders at the bar. We ordered a chicken dish and flank steak dish. For drinks a cider on tap and my partner wanted a cocktail, all they had is a canned margarita. The food is at the pickup counter in Styrofoam boxes before we even finish ordering. The dining area is beautiful, lined with windows. The steak was overcooked. The chicken was literally half a chicken. It was cooked well but lacking flavor. Not to mention half a chicken and an overcooked steak is pretty hard to eat when all you get is plastic utensils. The side potatoes were good. The side salad was not. It tasted like it was only dressed in apple cider vinegar and the baby carrots were undercooked. We spent $75 . $75 is a lot to serve yourself not very well prepared food. We ate at many other places in California for around this price and every one blew this place way out of the water. Skip it.
