Romano's Macaroni Grill Retama - Selma

At first glance, the restaurant may not seem very welcoming, but once you step inside, you're greeted with an enchanting Italian ambiance. The food is delicious, the place is spotless, and the staff is incredibly friendly.

The entire staff was incredibly friendly, and our waiter, Sam, was exceptional. The complimentary bread was delightful. We ordered the salmon, which turned out to be some of the best I've ever tasted. We also tried three different desserts, all of which were excellent. It was truly an amazing experience!

The service was lacking. After a long wait, our waiter finally appeared to take our drink orders, but then he vanished. We had to ask another staff member to help us locate him. After that incident, the service improved slightly. I left a 20% tip, not because the service warranted it, but because it was July 4th, and I appreciated that someone was somewhat attentive. The highlight of the meal was the salad. We didn't try any specials; everyone at our table ordered entrées from the menu, along with a couple of desserts. This was my first visit to Romano's, despite the fact that I've been back in San Antonio since 1974 and remember their opening in the 80s. Overall, there was nothing exceptional that would make me want to return.

I loved this restaurant. The staff was so on top of things and super friendly. I actually felt like I was in a restaurant in Italy. Give it a try.

Server rude, portion sizes small. Food quality low as well.
