Contribuiți la feedbackWe went there (and I am speaking of the tapas place, as they also have a restaurant in the same building, on the first floor with a party of 9. The place is centrally located in the historical centre, close to the cathedral and the central square. The look feel of this place is rather old fashioned and not very cosy (but ... this is my subjective view! . Some would say that that is the typical aspect of a tapas place ... They have a wide selection of tapas and 'raciones ' (small portions . Some of them were truly never seen and tasted excellent. Their concept is to do original things with the food. And they succeeded. Prices are OK. Service is OK.
Walking around the historic city center of Segovia you could get the expectation that the culinary scene in the city is breathtaking. If you take anything away from this review know this, it is definetly not breathtaking, atleast not in the traditional sense of the word... This might not be true for other restuarants within the city but it most definetly is for this one... Not only was it rather expensive, considering what you can get elsewhere for the same price... Not only was the service at this here establishment, horrific. They even had the gaul to tell us right to our faces that the food was not cold. And his reasoning for the waiters incredible insight into the temperature of what he had not touched, tasted or felt was the plates wasn´t cold when they left the kitchen ... Not only was their a constant buzzing sound from these ridiculous LCD lights, that lighted to dining areas as if they were trying to attract every single fly in the city... It was actually more the fact that the food was nye edible. I cannot for the life of me find any serious reasoning for why this culinary abomination of a restuarant should have more than 1 star on this here review section of Tripadvisor. Let alone 4 out of 5. I am very certain that the food was either prepared hours in advanced and then put under a heating lamp or more likely a microwave. Because under no circumstances, could a real chef, let alone a Mcdonalds assembly line guy, have put that drivel on a plate and called it dinner. May this disgusting tourist trap of a feeding trough soon go out of business and its locals turned into a souvenir shop, because atleast they have the decency to show you that the items on sale is both ridiculously priced and useless. I would rather buy a thousand i Heart Barcelona t-shirt and wear them till the end of my days, than having to sit through another meal at this Tavern.
We stopped for lunch here and chose the 3 course option for €13.50 including either 1/2 litre of wine or bottled water. The presentation of our meal was very good and each course well exceeded our expectations. Service was efficient and helpful. Fully recommend.
Compared to other restaurants in the area, not the best food and service. The food was too rich and salted. The worst was our waiter who didn't stop coughing about our food, which has spoiled the experience. I wouldn't go back to eat here with so many other amazing options in the city.
