We were at this resort skiing and the chef at our hotel seemed to like cooking food to death. So even though we were half board we chose to venture out to a local restaurant and this place was excdellent. It was soo good we...visited twice. The first time we had a couple of pizzas, it wasnt the excellent quality of the food thay brought us back but the staff there a friendly. If you have been skiing in Les Arcs you'll know that friendly people are few and far between. After you had a day of dealing with surly ski lift operators, a slightly friendly waiter is a welcome change. On our second visit we endulged in a fondue. We had never experienced it before and it was glorious.I have no idea the mixture of cheese gave a fantastic flavour. The only downside was we couldnt experience any dessert as we failed to even finish. The prices are very fair so remember and leave a good tip.
Unbelievably rude staff and don’t bother if you haven’t booked. This is my third visit to Les Arcs and this restaurant has been the worst for customer service and attitude towards patrons in Les Arcs We arrived at the restaurant at or just...before lunch time on Sunday February with plenty empty tables visible; we sat at a table in the outside restaurant area as the restaurant was filling up for lunch, we were told to move from the table and directed towards another larger table because the first table had been booked. Shortly after we sat at the second larger table another waiter came over and told us to move again as this table too was reserved. I pointed out that we had been directed to the current table by another waiter and I wasn’t prepared to move again until they sorted a table for us. By this point all the tables in the outside restaurant area had been filled and there was nowhere else to sit. I asked for the manager and he said we had to move. I explained to him that we weren’t going to move again because the waiter had directed us to this specific table and we would only be prepared to move if there was a table available. It quickly became apparent that the “manager” we had been talking to wasn’t a manager because the “real manager” came out and told us to move. At no point did any of the staff or management attempt to place us at a table and just wanted us to move. Then following our refusal to move until a table had been provided for us; the manager promptly removed all the cutlery and glasses from our table. Some time later he came back to the table and removed the empty chairs and ashtray; our table was left bare. We were not going to be served, but the manager retorted that we could stay at the table which seemed counter productive as the restaurant would be losing out on a table willing to pay for a meal and drinks. Following which nobody came over to our table to take an order or speak to us. I had to write this review as this isn’t the first time we’ve been subjected to below-par service and attitude from staff at Le Cairn. As a side note, patrons should be made aware that the restaurant will not allow you to sit in the outside restaurant area if you are only ordering drinks. In a nutshell it’s the poor service and rude attitude of staff that prevents me from returning to this overly-priced rudely staffed restaurant. As my partner remarked, it appears that if your face doesn’t fit then you won’t be served. As they’re a large restaurant, losing one table during a lunch setting is not going to hurt them either.
We went for a pizza and food was good, people lovely and service was quick. The fondue looked good although when we returned on a Friday evening to try it at the tables were all empty but they said they were fully booked. Nice...relaxed atmosphere.
Small, friendly place. We had a delicious cheese fondue with a plate of freshly cut charcuterie. Service was quick and cheerful.
