Poindexter Coffee - Seattle

Unfortunately, my experience wasn't great. The barista didn’t greet me, and I had to initiate the conversation myself. To make matters worse, when I ordered a red-eye, I was rudely corrected and told it’s actually called a shot in the dark, delivered with an unsettling tone that felt out of place early on a Sunday morning. It's worth noting that "shot in the dark" is simply another name for the same drink. My co-worker ordered a vanilla latte with foam, and our total came to just over $12. The red-eye I ordered was delightful; the espresso blended perfectly with the drip coffee. However, the vanilla latte was excessively syrupy, which was surprising. Given the lack of service and the high prices, I won’t be returning. Just down the street at Kitanda, you can find better service, more reasonably priced coffee (about $10), and friendlier baristas, as well as other options in the U-District.

This café offers a variety of standard coffees and snacks. It features plenty of spacious seating that creates an open atmosphere, unlike many coffee shops in the U-District that can feel cramped. The prices are quite reasonable as well.

I really love the ambiance and the view; it's an excellent place to work and relax.

The line was really long and took about 25 minutes to order and another 10 to receive the coffee, but there was only one barista working, so it was understandable. Always tip your servers and baristas!

The inside is so cute and it’s inside of a hotel! There are plants and overall, it feels really cozy and nice inside. I ordered a vanilla latte and it was pretty standard. I also got a raspberry cornetto, which was pretty large. I liked it though some bites had too much filling.
