Contribuiți la feedbackI also had watermelon juice, which was refreshing, but the large container was difficult to handle. There is no indoor or outdoor seating, and parking was a challenge, especially for wheelchair users. It is best to wait for a spot near the restaurant's entrance, as it is more level. The staff mainly spoke Spanish, so brushing up on the language would be helpful. Despite the inconveniences, the food was enjoyable, and I would return, especially knowing that they offer food to those in need without questions. For those with dietary restrictions, Frelard is a good option for simple, authentic Mexican food that is gluten-free. Parking can be difficult to find nearby, so it is best to walk if possible and leave closer spots for those who need them. Wheelchair accessibility may be challenging, so it is advisable to go with someone else for assistance.
If you're craving delicious tamales but can't make them at home like your tia or grandma, or if you're lucky like me and have someone who makes them for you, this is definitely one of the best places to get them. You can enjoy them pan-fried the next day or even thaw them out as a dessert, especially the sweet corn or raisin tamales. They can also be air-fried, microwaved, or pan-fried, and I personally enjoy mine pan-fried with chorizo or refried beans on the side. I loved the creative touch of using colored strings to identify the different types of tamales. I do wish they had seating available, but unfortunately they do not. The drinks are good, especially the horchata, and the tomatillo-based salsa adds a tangy kick. I would love to see a red chili salsa option as well. Overall, this is a great place to grab some tamales to go. There's a park nearby, like Green Lake, where you can enjoy a hot tamale. Keep up the amazing work, Frelard! And for vegetarians, there are just as many delicious vegan options available.
I have never tasted tamales as delicious as the ones I tried at this restaurant. I have tried tamales in ten different states, including Texas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, but none compare to the ones at this restaurant. The Vegan tamale with tangy salsas was especially unforgettable. This is truly the best tamales I have ever had.
The food itself is great, as good as tamales can be. Vegetarian and vegan options are much appreciated. But they make you line up behind 5 or 6 six customers looking to buy meals, to buy one extra hot salsa....in the middle of your meal!! Its like asking someone to line up for 15 mins for ketchup. The person was not nice to me either, even though I was not mean or rude to them. Ruined my experience with their attitude. May not go back for a while, all they had to do was be nice(r) about asking me to line up for an extra side of salsa.
Probably the best tamales I’ve had in my life. The price of 6.50$ is one you can’t beat and they come HEFTY. They were hot and moist and not dry unlike some tamales I’ve had previously. If you need a quick bite and are in the area, definitely consider coming here. I sure know I’m coming back for more
