Ichi Riki Japanese - Seaside

We visited after reading a local newspaper article about the change of ownership and the fact this restaurant is the oldest Japanese restaurant in the Monterey Bay Area. We sat at the sushi bar and ordered the nigiri and sushi roll sampler and the combination box with teriyaki salmon and tonkatsu. They accidentally brought veggie tempura instead of tonkatsu but they were able to correct it and left the veggie tempura for us. The veggie tempura was so good! The nigiri and sushi was super fresh. The vibe felt cozy and authentic, and the customer service was exceptional. There were a lot of regular customers coming in and chatting with the sushi chefs and servers. The food also reasonably priced for the quality. We loved all aspects of the experience and will definitely be back very soon!

They allow dogs without them being serviced dogs. Put sashimi plates down with no explanation of what chefs choice fish was . Cuts of sushi in triangles? Charged for real wasabi. Just a weird sushi experience. We went because we heard they remodeled. Bathrooms were so bad just held it.To me looked the same. Will not be going back. Best part was the service of out waitress .This she was Irish Parking: Kinda sketchy in front of a apartment complex that should be condemed

After trying couple of japanese resto around I must say this is the most authentic one. From the food, service and the atmosphere of the resto everything is so good. My wife loved it so I loved it too! But for real, the restaurant is cozy and very much Japanese, the servers are cordial and professional, and the food is delicious and plentiful. We had such a nice dinner. We shared a Jo , sake sashimi, and a vegetable roll Everything was delicious and the service was so welcoming.
