Grandma's Country Kitchen - Seaside

We had breakfast here yesterday and enjoyed some delicious biscuits.

I apologize for not mentioning in my previous review that this restaurant is now called Grandma's Corner.

Excellent service and delicious food. Couldn’t ask for anything more!

The biscuits were denser than I expected—not light and fluffy—and the sausage gravy had a different flavor profile than the typical Southern style. It used spices like thyme and parsley, among others, which made it distinct, but it wasn’t as sausage-flavored as I had hoped. The waffle was similarly dense instead of airy. Both the biscuits and waffle were delicious, though the texture was different, which didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment. I would absolutely order them again, but now I know they have a unique twist, reminiscent of Grandma’s cooking. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and attentive. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, the large portions make up for it. I recommend giving this place a shot; Grandma's is definitely a local favorite!

We both ordered the biscuits and gravy, which were delicious—a classic comfort food that they nailed. However, what truly impressed me was the French toast. I know it's a simple dish, but it was perfect: soft on the inside with just the right amount of crispiness on the outside, not overcooked or dried out at all. Along with that, the bacon was a highlight for me; it was thick and crispy. The portion sizes remind me of dining at grandma's house. If you're looking for classic comfort food, this place is definitely worth a visit.
