I've got the beef chop with chopped eggs. The hash certainly not sprinkled on the beef and the eggs were perfectly softly posing, just as I had asked. A few nice fresh cookies instead of toast and a cup of Joe and I were on the way. All right, just $10. This is a good place to stop when you are on Hwy 26.
Average Diner Grub. On the way back to Portland. This place is a diner through and through, I'm just not sure if they know it. My Ham and Cheese Omelet was pretty good, Hashbrowns would have used a little more brownin. My sourdough toast was mean after I ripped a piece, I called it up. My wife was unimpressed with her eggs and pancakes. It is not that these things badly per say, only uninspired, as most diner food is usually. The problem I have is that in calculated prices like Im still on the beach for this average fare. If you have a diner, then your prices should reflect. As far as the service goes, it was fine as it should be if you have only 2 tables. Grade: C (average food, high prices for it)
We drove to the coast and were looking for a breakfast stop. I would never have been, but my husband ate back in the early 80s. It wasn't too busy when we showed up, but before we left, it had received more customers. Our waitress was welcoming, fast and efficient. We ordered drinks and meals immediately. I ordered my way to Eggs Benedict, my husband ordered Biscuits Gravy, and my teenage daughter ordered a "pancake" who was smart because it's humiliated! I loved that Ei Benedict had a thick slice of ham crispy English muffin... The side of the bacon was disgusting. Hands down, though my husband was cookies. The Gravy had the best taste I ever had Biscuit was crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. I would recommend stopping here if you lower Hwy 26 Westbound. We enjoyed it more than Camp 18, which we visited a lot. Give him a shot
Great family restaurant and a full bar. Good sized portions. Warm comfortable atmosphere. Hash browns are never frozen and very good. Hotel with several rooms out back. This place is cute with county hospitality.
This is THE SPOT! It's SO easy to miss this place or to not even think it serves food, let alone EXCELLENT FOOD. But boy oh boy let this place surprise you with its food and prices! Very small dining but extremely cozy nonetheless. This place will be our little charm in the mountains for every day we get to enjoy it. Try the biscuits and gravy combo it's KILLER!
