This in response to the 1 star review:That group broke the Golden Rule Treat others as you like to be treated. Especially during this time, it is not a good rule to breakIt was a group of 6 that came in. They treated the young woman that rang them up so rudely that she retreated into the kitchen, and wouldn 't check on them because they made her feel uncomfortable (until she told them goodbye when they left . So the cook came out to ask how everything was (because as a company we don 't appreciate when customers treat our staff bad especially when they did nothing wrong. He gave a direct response to each question that was asked, because you know the golden rule.It seemed like they came in with a preconceived notion that all BBQ is the same. Without asking if we follow any type of style. Even though we have some inspiration from different regions we are completely different from any othersThe cook gave the ratio of 1 batch of dry rub 3, 2, 1, 1, (where the 2 cups of pepper comes in That batch covers 4 briskets, 6 pork butts and 40 lbs of chicken. With thier assumptions about the cook not tasting anything, he does and so does the young lady that they were rude to.

We had Erik cater our annual cookout this year, with about 75 people in attendance. He put out an amazing spread the beef ribs were a particular hit, but he also had pulled pork and chicken (both tender and flavorful that everyone loved, plus potato salad, mac and cheese, coleslaw, collard greens on the side. I particularly like how how Erik makes his collards with bacon and onions and careful prep work on the greens, an attention to detail that makes a real difference, in my humble opinion. Erik arrived early and had everything set up by the time I got there. He left everything cleaner than he found it, and just generally made everything easier for me and my husband to be able to just enjoy the event. Highly recommend

Yes of course the barbecue is amazing, but let me tell you about their banana pudding, Go grab you some !! Don't leave without it! The Bend BBQ is a perfect family-friendly establishment, and it's a perfect addition to the small town of Scottsville. They are some BBQ-loving folks who are extremely dedicated to making some excellent food. I would add a picture but my food is all gone !

Quite possibly the best BBQ in central VA. Prices are VERY reasonable, portions are generous, staff is friendly. Be sure to get the Pork Pim sandwich BBQ pork with homemade pimento cheese incredible!

Friendly staff and service, however, the bbq tastes like whole peppercorns and not smoke and BBQ taste. Maybe some like it like this but its not for me or my family. I would rather the smoke do the talkin and sauce be a welcome surprise rather than WAY TOO MUCH black pepper corn. Pulled pork is hard to screw up and they found a way to do it.
