Don Dot's Hide-a-way Lounge

Would give it 0 stars if that was an option. What a piece of **** this place is!! Very poorly managed!!

This is an old man bar. Luckily for me, I love old man bars. Unluckily for my wife, she [has more sense and] does not. But who cares what she thinks? This is my review, and I think it's great when a bar has blindingly bright lights, patrons that haven't moved off their stools in decades (that turn and stare at you because you obviously aren't from around here), and cheap, cheap drinks. And a pool table. I'll hang out anywhere with a pool table. I hear the wings are great. Unfortunately, I don't actually know because they closed the kitchen five minutes before I walked in (11 pm I believe). At first I hated them with the fury of a thousand Christian Bales, but then I got over it.

This side of the road dive bar in Scottsville has cold beer and good food. But don 't expect much else. No doubt about it, this is a bar for locals. You know you 're not in the city when you see the bar is sponsoring a Big Buck competition during deer season. The decor is plain, but you 're not coming here for fancy designer interiors. Folks are friendly or indifferent, as long as you 're not making a scene or ordering something completely inappropriate. Our party visited on a Sunday afternoon. Football games were winding down, folks were saying their goodbyes as we rolled up. We ordered a shaved steak sandwich, a bacon cheeseburger, wings, and fries. The sandwiches came out first, the wings came out next, the fries never showed up. My shaved steak sandwich was tasty, with a good mix of meat, cheese, onions, and mushrooms on a hearty wedge roll. My date said her cheeseburger was tasty. The wingman enjoyed his wings, missed his fries. Beers were cold and yellow. My date ordered a Blue Balls which is Blue Toad Cider (from nearby Henrietta, N.Y. with a shot of Fireball whisky. Dirty Dave 's is a no-frills experience that is good for small groups or a a quick meal on the way home from wherever you are.

I enjoyed the Birthday special last night, and it was fantastic! The wings were amazing, and the tacos were great as well. The atmosphere was perfect for a group celebration for my birthday. Keep up the excellent work!

Dirty Dave's: A neighborhood spot. I sometimes visit here with friends. The vibe is laid-back and casual. They have a good variety of beers, and the highlight is their $1 hot dogs! However, they only have a couple of TVs, so it's not the best place for watching sports. Overall, it's a solid place to hang out.
