Veneto Trattoria - Scottsdale

During our visit to the Phoenix area, we decided to try this Italian place that was on the road from our hotel. We stumbled on a real jewel. The food was excellent and the ambience was pleasant. The special part of our meal was our server, Will. He mentioned that he had only worked there for 2 1/2 weeks, but would never have guessed from his knowledge about the menu. His recommendations were on point and his way was very friendly. We felt like home. Overall, this was a wonderful experience thanks to in large part to Will. I also want Shout Hector (the food runner). It was impressive to see how he moved to the restaurant at such speed and confidence. Will and Hector were the perfect team. Thanks for a fantastic meal!

This review is not the food for the service. decided to eat lunch with my grandmother here for my birthday. When we went to the door, I felt uncomfortable because the staff was not welcome. It was the manager (possibly also the owner) who was not even welcome to us. How many? My grandmother wanted to sit in the back room to be private as we were there to celebrate. He didn't let them speak and said they wanted to keep all the guests in the main kitchen. Then when she asked if we could sit at another table, she would be more comfortable, he buoyed and said that wherever we were sitting to be other people again, not allow them to speak and tell him what she wanted another table. Our server, Silvana, wasn't much more friendly. Both them and the manager seemed to have messed up their day with friends and regulars. All the others who went through the doors were greeted with Hi! How are you? Welcome to/back . You have problems with consistency in accommodation and service here. My family had been there a few times before and was allowed to make substitutions and the cook even prepared a dinner dish for them as lunch with zero problems. When my grandmother wanted to have a side of pasta with her meal this time, instead of rubbing potatoes, she was immediately cut off from our server and said absolutely no substitutions. She was ready to buy one side of pasta, but always said no substitutions. The only good part of our lunch was Alfredo and the food. That's it. When my grandmother asked to talk to the manager, he came by and made excuses again and again instead of doing it right. I have to explain why our experience was less than sufficient, even to tell the manager that while he did not let us sit in the back more private area, there were in fact other diners there that also seemed to celebrate something because we saw another server going / leaving from even with a cake and candle and later diner from there. His apology was that they shouldn't have been there.... So where he told us we couldn't sit there, he didn't know there were other people? It wasn't a buyout because it was just two people. All in all, it was a terrible experience. I was so excited to have my birthday dinner there since I heard good things about the food. Unfortunately, because of their bad service, I couldn't enjoy my birthday dinner with my grandmother. I will not return, and I will never recommend this restaurant to my friends, family, colleagues (the other concierges in the valley), or to my customers.

A group of 7 went last night, 9/23. Various reviews from every lady. Nothing impressed enough to come back. 7 dinners were over $300. I have Lasagne, it wasn't very good. Just okay, but not great and very expensive. Nothing but a square of Lasagne $21.50

What a beautiful mother and pop run. I felt like sitting on the Father of God in one of the Italian restaurants. waiter dresses in black anf white was good over the menu able to detailed information about the constancy, the most important ingredients and served everything very professional, which is very rare) the food was very good and pleasant for my palate. Mmmm! And to dessert was the Thrumsu cake amazing?? If I'm ever back in Scottsdale, I'll come back. Make sure you bring the American Express card. Soup, meal 2× cocktails and dessert $70.00.

Cannot say enough good stuff about this place. The food was absolutely out-of-this-world delicious. The complimentary bread butter combo is to die for!!! Extremely quick service and the staff was super friendly and nice. Great ambience, great value for money. Overall a 12/10 experience!!
