Contribuiți la feedbackWe both enjoyed dinner tonight that included a meatball marinara, chopped salad, octopus, and frito miso. They were uniquely prepared and all delicious. Service was good too. We were there at happy hour and so everyone was having a good time with friends. There's another Evo in Scottsdale which has more of a fine dining menu. Going there this week too. We both love Italian food!!! Ps Fourth day being married. Hooray Harriet D.
Used to be one of favorite Italian restaurants in Old Town, but our last couple of visits have been hit or miss... case in point.., we ate there last night and after waiting approximately 30 minutes for our entrées to come out, my chicken pesto was both cold and very dry. I give credit to our waiter/bartender for being super-nice in offering to bring me a brand new dish, but we were in a time crunch crunch to make a show so I just ate a very plain meal. Not sure if we will return and if we do, it will be to their other location in N. Scottsdale where the ambience and food is always more consistent and has much better flavor. There are lots of Italian food options in Old Town, Scottsdale and unfortunately, I'm going to have to drop Evo to the bottom of the list
Service was great. Absolutely zero complaints with every one I interacted with. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The food was pretty good. Mussels took me by surprise and I enjoyed it more than anticipated. May have been my favorite dish. The lobster gnocchi was a bit disappointing. It was a little tough and I didn't think the gnocchi was very good. The dish was also overly creamy and too thick. Flavor was still good. Closing it out with the tiramisu made the whole experience great. It was very enjoyable. If I'm ever back in town I'll definitely try one of their pizzas. Pictures people have posted here looks so good. Looking forward to coming back.
Made reservations for 9 for a Sunday night; we were seated pretty soon after we arrived. Off the bat, the place itself was pretty loud, I felt I had to shout at my friends most of the night to hear. Dim lighting, romantic ambience, dark leather seats but I can't say I enjoyed the smell. Let's get onto the food- My friend and I split three items by starting with the focaccia. I was pleasantly surprised; the creaminess from the cheese was perfectly complimented by the chewiness of the bread and sweetness of honey. The evo salad was next, I'm glad we split this bc I was getting a bit tired of the taste. It had a lot of fun textures and flavors but just got old quickly. For our main, we ordered the bolognese. The pasta was perfectly al dente with a nice and meaty sauce. We were celebrating two bachelorettes at this party and our server brought out two free desserts which was really sweet- fried donuts with three sauces and tiramisu. Also! Half off a bottle of wine on Sunday, so we took advantage of that as well. Overall, was pleasantly surprised at this dining experience- great food, top notch service, and reasonable pricing! Would come again!
Pros: Locally sourced ingredients Friendly, knowledgeable staff Easy parking Large dining area Amazing meatballs and sauce EVO salad had a wonderful array of textures with crispy kale, tender brussels and pancetta Cons: A little pricey, but well worth it Pro tip: Check in on Yelp and you'll get a glass of Limoncello!
