Berggasthof Waldhaus - Schopfheim

We were here with the family. the gasthof is really beautiful, above the no less pristine outdoor swimming pool. service was friendly and that despite quite well visited local. the interior and exterior and also the beer garden are worth a visit. the time is stopped. food was very fast there. quality good, unfortunately the steak was just fried instead of medium wheel. because of the good meat it was too pained, at least once. portionings are already at the upper limit to create it. we will come back with nice weather.

We were driving up to the Hohe Mohr and went as far as the road would take us, passing Berggasthof at the end of the road. We decided not to hike the additional 1+ mile since it was hot and we had no water on hand. We opted for a beer back at Berggasthof and thoroughly enjoyed drinking it on the outside porch. Frank is the owner and proceeded to chat at length with us since we were the only visitors at that time. The views are incredible here and...it...is...quiet. Frank is running the place to keep it in the family. He has spent time in the US, is also a chef and vintage car enthusiast, and his English is excellent. We spent a delightful afternoon with him. He also sponsors blues festivals here in the winter. We asked to see a room inside and he quickly obliged. Inside is exceptionally clean. The inside restaurant was set to receive dining customers that evening/ menu posted sounded delicious and very reasonably priced. The room we were shown was quite large with private facilities and also very reasonable. Would love to have stayed overnight. See ya next time, Frank!

The berggasthof waldhaus is hosted by a very peculiar host, herr frank ühlinger. As long as you stand in his laune and it goes after his will, the atmosphere is good. the kitchen is good and the price/performance bid can be seen. the monthly musical highlights in the direction blues are all worth listening.But if it is against "the dash" he can quickly do his laune to the hospitable. the better you know him, the harder it can be.
