Wolpertinger Bar - Schliersee

After a busy day exploring the local area, the return to Wolpertinger Bar was a perfect end of the day. The staff of the bar are friendly and welcoming. The ambience invites and thus encourages social integration with others. In any case, a place to return.

Nice cozy bar in the hotel, which serves bar snacks and burgers. Very helpful staff and great cocktails .

Part of the Karma Bavaria Resort is open every evening and serves a wide range of beers, cocktails etc. They offer nuts and nibbles and it is friendly and welcoming. The name Wolpertinger comes from a mythical Bavarian creature that appears to be part of duck, part... rabbit, part deer and good to drink.

Nice relaxed bar, very friendly and lovely beer. The Wolpertinger sees all! The staff are very helpful.

The hours of operation change daily. When we arrived, we were told that the bar opened at 5pm. Being Aussies, we were promptly there at 5:01, when we were told that we couldn't get a drink until 5:30 and it was only beer and wine. Cocktails can be made after 6pm - but that was ok because that's when happy hour started!Up until Christmas, happy hour was from 6-7pm, but after Christmas the bar didn't open until 9:30pm when the restaurant shut - due to a lack of staff. Also, they can only serve beer and wine in the restaurant - because the bar is shut. However if you made friends with the right staff, you could get basic cocktails, but there was definitely no more happy hours. The bar menu was DELICIOUS and it was a shame that you couldn't get the bar menu all the time. One thing we really missed was coming home from a day of exploring and not being able to get a drink or even a tea or coffee. While you never knew when the bar would open, it would stay open until the last man was standing and the staff were always willing to be entertaining until there was no one left.
