Dukes Chophouse - Schenectady

Amazing restaurant inside the casino. Best thing outside the food is that they have different rooms with different noise level which is amazing if you do or dont want to be close to the casino ambiance. Food is simply amazing and not that expensive considering what you eat.

Dinner here is a sure bet!! The entrance to the restaurant is immediately off the casino floor so it was a bit noisy. However, we asked for a quiet table and the hostess delivered. Our server was attentive but not over bearing. She gave us time to enjoy our drinks before bringing out our appetizer the small seafood tower. The cooked components lump crab, shrimp, lobster and king crab legs were perfectly executed. My dining companion enjoyed the raw oysters and clams. After finishing the seafood, we ordered our entrees. I selected the scallops served over lobster risotto and my companion ordered the 12 ounce filet with Bearnaise sauce and a side of mushrooms. Everything was prepared to our satisfaction. The wine list has a nice selection by the glass and a bottle of California viognier was very reasonably priced. In fact, we asked if the price was a misprint on the menu but it was not. It paired nicely with all the seafood dishes. Portion sizes were just right for us but did not allow for dessert. This was fine as we prefer a god appetizer to dessert most of the time. We recently dined at the other fine dining steakhouse in the area and agree that Duke's is a much better dining experience all around.

I thought the food was good. But for the price point, service felt rushed and wasn't good. Our server gave no suggestions just wanted to get our orders in and then disappeared after that. The ambience was not as good as other steakhouses I have been to. I most likely will not return on account of the service being horrible and having to pay almost $300 for dinner for two people.

We had a very nice dinner, I had the filet and my husband the rib eye with a side of mashed potatoes. The food was very good and our waiter William was outstanding, he was attentive without being over bearing. The woman playing piano made for a nice ambiance, she had a beautiful voice and was not loud. After you go inside the restaurant you forget you are in a casino.

The food and service were exceptional. We were seated next to piano prior to start but during meal when she was playing it was difficult to communicate with my wife. Other than that everything else was 5 star.
