Contribuiți la feedbackI’ve always wanted to try here. Living local surprisingly we haven’t. My parents have though and they enjoyed their 1st visit Unlike this time. We’re a family of 5 my daughter registered disabled we parked in the designated disabled bays. Although wasn’t necessary we displayed a blue badge. Walked inside to be what can only be described as targeted by the lady(manager) who was running the place, telling us we can’t park in the disabled spot we had because it’s for disabled customers. Not politely came over and asked if we should be parked here, the restaurant had a fair few customers in. And all looked over towards us. My daughter felt humiliated. I said for her to just come along over to the table we had reserved. This shouldn’t be happening. We are now in 2023. And discrimination unfortunately is as ever still happening. We were served by a young lad who was kind enough. Although we felt by this point everyone had their opinion of us. The food was served by the lady in question. She had no manners and didn’t seem She was happy to serve us! Once we’d had desserts we paid. And left saying bye but still again nothing! We have eaten much better from the takeaway over the road. They are second to none. And very friendly unlike walkers. So we won’t be visiting walkers anymore. Unfriendly uninviting and rude. Customer care skills greatly need polishing up on!
Went for Saturday lunch while visiting the area. I must have passed the resturant several times before, but had never been in. So pleased that I now have! Excellent menu, with plenty to choose from. All four of the family ended up having three courses and everything was just scrummy! It's a fish resturant and they do it so well. Lemon sole, sea trout, sea bream, hake... Chips, salad, potatoes... all cooked beautifully. Finally, however full you feel, don't leave without having a pudding. The lemon pavlova was lovely (and they will do a smaller portion if you ask). Our waitress was great and very patient with my elderly dad. Also worth mentioning that there is good disabled access.
Have been vomiting g to Walkers ever since it opened. It continues to serve delicious fish and chips at a sensible price. Good children’s options which our grandchildren greatly enjoyed. Good ambience and helpful staff.
We were staying nearby in self catering accommodation and decided to try this place for takeaway fish/sausage and chips for dinner. A very pleasant lady took our order and we waited a short while in a seating area for our order to be prepared. The restaurant has a very pleasant inside seating area for dining in too. The food was delicious and we enjoyed it all.
We normally come here every year, when we stay in Scarborough. We are staying in Pickering at the moment and not being able to get any joy at the local fish restaurant, we took the twenty minute drive to East Ayton, where we had no problem getting a table. The staff were excellent, as was the large Haddock and chips that we had. Beautiful white, meaty fish in a light, crisp batter. Lovely pot of tea and a nice ice cream to follow. Great toilets and plenty of parking space. Cannot recommend highly enough.
