Contribuiți la feedbackI visited the Buccaneer to see Over the Limit, a trio of skilled musicians. While I may not have been a fan of all the songs they performed, they executed them excellently. I would definitely attend another one of their performances.
The exterior of this restaurant may not be much to look at, but the food and service inside were delightful. My husband had the steak and I opted for the scampi, both of which were excellent. The staff were attentive and brought drinks to our table promptly. We enjoyed our experience so much that we made a reservation for Sunday dinner, which turned out to be just as fabulous. The separate bar area was a nice touch, and we found the prices to be very reasonable. The entertainment was top-notch and even the owner took the time to chat with us and make us feel welcome.
The food at this quirky pub and restaurant is great with a menu offering good choices. Filey doesn't have many options for pub grub, but this place is the best. The food tastes like a home-cooked meal. We tried their Sunday Carvery and loved it so much that we came back during the week.
Do not be put off by the entrance! Not one to leave reviews but I feel compelled to on this occasion. Whilst not quite hot enough, this Sunday carvery was absolutely delicious. A vast selection of accompaniments, generous helpings of meat, and fantastic, welcoming staff made this one of my favourite carvery experiences in some time. Food was home cooked and prices very reasonable. Will definitely be back next time I am in Filey.
The Buccaneer is a really nice pub with a good atmosphere and good selection of food and drink. We went out of season but the pub was quite busy. Booking is not necessary but is advised. They do special offers on certain nights eg. Tuesday and Thursday are steak nights.
