Ital Vital Rastarant - Scarborough

I am not vegan but my teen granddaughter is and she loves this place. So do I! If someone cooked this food for me every night, I could be vegan.It's very off the wall...the staff, the service, the laid back attitude but all part of the charm.There really isn't a menu, just a hot table full of a variety of interesting foods. You choose a large or small sized dinner box for takeout and they tell you how many choices you get. All was delicious and I am going to try and duplicate the marinated soy "beef" strips at home. A large dinner box was enough for 2 of us for $15.We'll be back.

Tiny, shop but brimming with delicious tastes from Jamaica. I don't like overly spicy or heavy curry. Ital Vital really gets it right. well blended spices linger in the mouth till the next delicious bite. Few seats inside some hand hewn log benches to sit on, or take it home if you can wait that long.The food is all kept warm in steam tables. You pick the size of container $10. or $20,Then tell the server what you would like. for greens there is calilou, dirty rice (rice and beans) curry veggies such as cauliflower, chickpeas lentils, bell peppers, plantain and the kind of marinated soy we all wish we could make. Sweet and gently spiced with an amazing texture that is surely their signature dish. All of this is topped with greens, sprouts tomatoes cucumber, plantain. It is all packed to the brim in a paper board container not styrafoam. The generous portions are an incredible value. Real vegan real RASTA.

Honestly some of the best vegan food I've had. Their BBQ soy tastes exactly like meat (like literally!) and is to die for. And I love that it still tastes like authentic caribbean food even though it's vegan. You get a good portion of food for a decent price. It's a little Caribbean restaurant with limited seating and limited food, nothing fancy. But like I said, the food is so tasty. **Important tip: they only take cash (which sucks). My only complaint is that I when I went there on Sunday, they were supposed to be open by 12 and they still weren't open and this was around 2:30. Even the sign on their door with the hours of operation said the restaurant was supposed to be open. If you're not going to be open when you say you are, you should formally change your hours and not just make up your own. If it weren't for this I'd have given 5 stars.

I come to work in Scarborough once a week, and am always looking for new things to try, as the variety is great! I wanted a vegan restaurant and Ital Vital was the first one to come up! Delicious food, I wish I could have tried everything. lt is a very filling portion, glad I only got the small!

We found this place by accident and were so happy we did.The guys that run it are polite and helpful. It is small place with only a couple of tableThe food is great Ital. You get a huge amount of food for the price. The flavours were amazing and all melded together perfectly. They have great juices and I recommend a Vegan Choc Chip cookie.Try this place out you will not be disappointed.
