Pizzeria Nicolas - Scanzano jonico

We've now been here 3 times in the last year and are already impressed. It's not fancy, it's not posh and it's not expensive. This restaurant caters for the local community, the menu is totally typical of the area and every dish is well executed and freshly made. Last night we shared a mixed seafood and meat platter, a seafood pasta each and then shared a main of mixed fried seafood with fries, all of it excellent. Together with wine and beer the bill was €47, a bargain. The service is always friendly and efficient what more could anyone want?

We totally liked it there, the food was great, the people were nice and the atmosphere seemed to be really Italian! It looks like we say in German Wirtshaus . There are just local people, the owner of the restaurant and the waiter weren 't able to speak english but an Italian guest helped them out and translated what we asked/said. We ate a vegetarian pizza topped with aubergine, zucchini and peppers and a plate with mixed fish. It was the best pizza i ate during my Italian holiday and it cost just 5€!! The fishplate was 15€. If you want to experience a piece of the real Italy go there, i recommend the place!

Pizza favolosa cotta nel forno a legna, in un locale semplice che ti fa sentire come a casa. Atmosfera accogliente, ottima qualità a prezzi convenienti. Con poco si mangia davvero bene!

Cavatelli con miscela eccellente e pesce bollente; friggere delizioso come il taglio.
