Contribuiți la feedbackWe had seen some pictures of the place on Instagram and decided to stop for lunch today. During this Covid period, restaurants are open only for lunch in Liguria. Despite the location in the main business hotel in town, once you are inside you have the impression of being in a nice oasis on the sea. The food was delicious: simple but not simplistic, tasty and well presented. Neither cheap nor expensive...the experience definitely worths the price. We will go back!
Me and my husbond and our two daughters stayed at Mare Hotel and we went to this restaurant an evening. The restaurant is open also in daytime but is supernice in the evenings with oceanview and perfect tablesettings. We ate lasagne and vegetarian pasta. Food is ok. The red wine is very good.
This hotel has 3 very good restaurants but we enjoyed eating at the Bistro restaurant because you could eat outside in nice weather and the food was always very good !
We had booked a table, and when we were seated, we ordered a bottle of water. We didn’t get it, and after 20 minutes with no contact from the waiters, we called one of them over. We wanted the mussel soup, but that had sold out. We thought, that the waiter should have mentioned that, when he gave us the menus. We ordered the grilled octopus with potatoes instead. The food was ready very fast, and it did not look or taste like it had been near a grill recently. It looked and tasted like, it might have been grilled earlier and then reheated in a microwave, as it was stringy and wasn’t completely warm. The potatoes tasted like they weren’t completely ripe, and they weren’t hot either. We very much doubt, that our meals were freshly cooked/grilled. It also had very little taste. About the service we sat for 20 minutes with no contact, until we initiated it and asked to order. We ordered, and we didn’t get water or bread, until after our food had actually been served. After we tasted the food, and we needed salt and pepper, since the taste was a bit bland. It took over 5 minutes to get in contact with one of the waiters, and she did not speak a word of english, so we had to motion for it. Lack of contact was not a problem at the other tables. A group of three walked in off the street, sat down and were served water and bread within minutes, while we waited 30 minutes. Maybe they avoided our table, because they did not speak english, as they seemed to be very attentive and talkative with the other tables in italian and french. The setting on the beach is stunning, and the white wine was good, but all in all it was really dissapointing. We chose not to eat there again during our stay at the hotel, and we do not recommend it.
